I'm baaaaack! And totally overwhelmed by all of the fun events that have taken place over the past 2 weeks. I'll try my best to do a recap! We had a memorable and amazing holiday break.
Christmas Eve was nice and low key at our house. We decided that it is just getting too hard to do Christmas morning away from home. Nate took the boys to a movie while Anna and I prepared a HUGE Christmas Eve feast! We had a quiet dinner with the china that we received from our wedding. (I think we've used it a total of 3 times since we got married.) I pretty much made the BEST turkey I've ever made in my life! We had turkey, ham, mashed potatoes, bacon green beans, hot rolls, raspberry jello, and chocolate silk pie. YUM!
Dinner was followed by a program/talent show. Dallin and Parker played the piano. Landon sang, I played the flute, and Nate read about the birth of the Savior from the scriptures.
Then we opened our new jammies!!!
Christmas morning Nate and I had to wake the kids up. I was wide awake by about 5:00 and couldn't go back to sleep because I was SO excited for the kids! The boys got new Nintendo DS's, Landon got a bike and scooter, fishing poles, games, Lego's, remote controlled cars, Play Station games and lots more! Spoiled rotten! Sissy got a play mat, and some rice cereal with spoons.
Dallin: the only kid in the world who would react to getting a rubix cube like this:
After opening presents and eating cinnamon rolls we jumped in the car and headed down to Utah.
Nate's parents surprised the kids with a TRIP TO DISNEYLAND!
Woo Hoo! Can't wait until February!!! California sun here we come!!!!
That evening we had the annual family talent show.
The twins did a fabulous rendition of "Aint gettin nuthin for Christmas" with beanies and shades on:
Brody sang "Santa Claus is coming to town."
Miss Maci recited a poem:
My boys played their piano pieces again.
Grandpa and Mak sang a song:
Other activities during the week included: TONS of games!!
Some old and new favorites included: reverse charades, the humming game, the candy bar game with GIFT CARDS and Ipod Idol! Nate and I won JACK SQUAT in the gift card game. SO frustrating! Still fun though....just SUPER intense!
We went swimming. Sister wasn't so sure about it. She was MUCH happier sitting in Aunt Becky's lap wrapped in a towel!
Grandma and Grandpa, Nate, Ashley and Justin took the kids skiing. I stayed home with Anna. The kids all had an absolute blast. Dallin and Parker can't wait to ski a TON more this winter!
We watched a bunch of movies in the movie room!
The girls did a bunch of shopping. The kids did a bunch of SLEDDING in the backyard!
And we were able to hang out with family that we RARELY ever get to see. It was a perfect holiday season!
Love my family.
Absolutely loved to talk to my brother too. Elder Rock seems to be doing very well over in Denver. He even had his first baptism on CHRISTMAS DAY! What a special blessing.
What did Anna think of her very first Christmas?
Just look at this face:
Pretty sure she LOVED it!
